BEST TRAVELER'S CHOICE 2026
Registration, payment, cancellations, accommodation and insurance for our signature trips.
Please read this information carefully as payment of the deposit represents your acceptance of the following Terms and Conditions.
Finding Your France: A Week Exploring the Dordogne is offered by Les Cordeliers (Susan Buchanan, entrepreneur individuel, 51, rue des Cordeliers, 24200 Sarlat-la-Canéda, France; SIRET 941 980 955 00012) in collaboration with the Adrian Leeds Group.
Every reservation begins with an introductory conversation with Susan and Stephen, to get acquainted and to make sure the week is the right fit for everyone. To set up your call, write to info@lescordeliers-sarlat.com and share your preferred dates.
The program runs for seven nights, Thursday to Thursday: May 13–20, 2027.
To provide an optimal experience, each session is limited to a maximum of 20 travelers and runs with a minimum of 12 travelers.
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU SHOULD WAIT TO BOOK YOUR AIRFARE. Once we have reached the minimum of 12 travelers for your session, we will notify you that you can go ahead and purchase your airfare.
The trip price is €5,900 per person in a double room shared by two people, and €6,900 for a single room. Prices include TVA (French value-added tax).
The price per person includes seven nights' hotel accommodation; breakfast daily, dinner every evening and the lunches listed in the itinerary; the opening reception and apéros; daily transportation for group activities; entrance fees for the visits listed in the itinerary; the learning sessions, house tour and property showings; and the services of your hosts and experts.
Not included in the trip price are entrance fees to museums and other attractions not expressly described in the proposed itinerary; taxis or other forms of city transportation; airfare and airline baggage fees; food consumed on your own; tips at hotel, restaurants, or airport; costs of passports and visas; personal expenses such as beverages or laundry, airport transfers or any other services not specified in the proposed itinerary.
Guest rooms at Les Cordeliers are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis by booking date. Once all rooms at Les Cordeliers are booked, guests who reserve after that are accommodated nearby at the four-star Le Plaza Madeleine in Sarlat, at no extra cost, and join all meals and activities with the group. We will confirm your hotel when your deposit is received.
All guest rooms at Les Cordeliers have private bathrooms. Most have a shower; some have a bathtub or a combined tub and shower. If you have a preference or particular need, please tell us when you book and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Your registration is complete once your deposit has been received by Les Cordeliers.
Les Cordeliers will send you an invoice for your deposit and another for your balance. All payments are made in euros by credit card (Mastercard or Visa). If your card is billed in another currency, the conversion is made at the exchange rate on the day of payment.
A deposit of 50% of the trip price secures your place. The remaining 50% balance is due 90 days before arrival, by February 12, 2027.
Once your deposit or payment in full has been received, you will receive a confirmation email and further information to help you plan your trip.
If you make your reservation after the balance due date, payment in full will be required immediately.
If you cancel more than 90 days before arrival, you may choose either a full refund of all payments you have made, including your deposit, or a transfer of those payments to a future session held within one year of your original trip dates.
If you cancel within 90 days of arrival, no payments are refunded or transferred.
At any time, you may transfer your place to another person. As with every reservation, your replacement will first need an introductory conversation with Susan and Stephen.
If you must cancel your trip, the effective date of cancellation will be upon our receipt of your notification, which must be made in writing either by letter to 51, rue des Cordeliers, 24200 Sarlat-la-Canéda, France or e-mail to info@lescordeliers-sarlat.com.
We reserve the right to cancel any reservation that is not paid in full by the balance due date; this is treated as a cancellation by you.
If the minimum of 12 travelers is not reached 90 days before arrival, we may cancel the session. In that case, your payments will be refunded in full or, if you prefer, transferred to a future session.
Should a pandemic or similar event prevent the trip from taking place, we will reschedule it as close to the original price and itinerary as possible, and your payments will be transferred to the new dates.
We strongly recommend the purchase of trip cancellation insurance by or before payment of the deposit.
This week is educational in nature. The learning sessions, house tour and property showings do not constitute legal, financial, tax or immigration advice, and you are under no obligation to buy property or to use any service. Any property services you later choose to use are provided under a separate agreement with the provider.
A professional photographer will accompany the group during the week. Photographs and video taken during the program may include you, and Les Cordeliers and the Adrian Leeds Group may use them, together with comments or testimonials you share with us, on our websites and social media, in newsletters, and in printed or digital promotional materials. We identify guests by first name only, unless you agree otherwise, and we will ask for your approval before publishing any quotation attributed to you. Guests may also have the opportunity to receive a selection of photographs from the week.
If you prefer not to appear in published images or to be quoted, simply tell us in writing when you book or at any time afterward. We will respect your choice from that point on and, on request, remove images of you from our websites and social media; printed materials already distributed cannot be recalled. Your choice has no effect on your participation or the trip price. Images are used only to promote our programs and are never sold to third parties.
You are responsible for securing your own passport, valid for at least six months after the completion of the trip. U.S. passport holders do not need a visa for this trip. The European Union plans to introduce an online travel authorization for visa-exempt visitors (ETIAS), possibly in 2027; if it applies to your travel dates, you will need to obtain it before departure, and we will let you know. Travelers holding other passports should check the entry requirements for France.
We welcome all travelers who are in good health and can fully participate in our trips. Our trips require a reasonable amount of walking, possibly several hours a day, uphill, on uneven streets or streets without curb cuts. You must be able to climb stairs and get in and out of vans on your own.
The visit to a prehistoric cave takes place underground, in dim lighting, for an extended period of time, and sometimes in tight quarters with others.
The prehistoric cave visit is optional. If you would rather not go underground or into tight spaces, you are welcome to skip the cave and enjoy that time on your own. Simply let us know in advance, and we will tell you where and when to rejoin the group for the afternoon session; lunch that day is then on your own. Choosing to skip the visit does not change the trip price.
If you are unable to navigate this type of activity, you will not be able to participate fully in the trip, and we suggest you choose another type of trip. We cannot provide individual alternatives to the planned group activities. If your fitness level does not allow you to keep up with the group, you will be responsible for planning your own activities and for any additional costs incurred (for instance, but not limited to, personal taxis, train tickets, and entrance fees).
We regret that we cannot provide individual assistance if you require the use of a wheelchair or have other individual needs. Because we travel in vans, you would not be able to fully participate in this trip.
We recommend that you purchase trip cancellation insurance and traveler’s medical and evacuation insurance. Rick Steves provides an excellent overview of the topic here: https://www.ricksteves.com/travel-tips/trip-planning/travel-insurance
Should you have to cancel your trip after you have paid in full, we cannot offer refunds other than previously described, because we will have already paid the costs of your trip to our vendors.
Please be aware that trip insurance companies are very strict about what they will and will not reimburse you for, so read their policies closely. Many insurers require you to enroll as soon as you pay your deposit, so make this decision early in the planning process.

In no event will the Trip Planners be liable for amounts in excess of the amounts payable to the Trip Planners in accordance with the terms hereunder, nor will Trip Planners be liable for any consequential indirect or incidental damages arising from this agreement. We will make every effort to conduct our trip as planned, but we reserve the right to make itinerary and other changes as necessary. If unforeseen circumstances require us to add a hotel, we will make every effort to select alternative accommodations of same or similar quality. The foregoing terms and conditions and all aspects of the relationship between Trip Planners and you shall be governed by French law.
