From Les Cordeliers to the medieval city, it is just a few steps. Cross the square, and there you are, in the heart of Sarlat, itself the capital of the Périgord Noir, an emblematic region of French history, heritage and terroir.
Les Cordeliers is ideally situated to enjoy everything Sarlat has to offer, starting with the gourmet farmers’ markets right outside the front door, every Wednesday morning and on Saturday.
You will savor the mornings at Les Cordeliers as you contemplate the day’s activities and getting to know the gorgeous architecture, history, and landscape of Sarlat and its surroundings.
And after a full day of sightseeing, why not enjoy a relaxing massage at the wellness center across the street that will refresh you for an evening at one of Sarlat’s many restaurants.
Sarlat is a gastronomic stage, the region being famous for the likes of foie gras, walnuts, truffles and strawberries. This town takes its food seriously as two of their churches have been turned into indoor food markets. But this medieval city enjoys particular renown as the capital of the Périgord Noir. It has a gastronomic but also an architectural and cultural heritage that is quite exceptional and typically French.

Sharing a bottle from the honor wine bar; indulging in a favorite magazine or eagerly waiting for a dinner companion are just few of the possibilities as you reach the Puymartin lounge and outdoor deck on the top floor.
The rich heritage and culture of this medieval city, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, make Sarlat an ideal capital to represent the Périgord noir. Very dynamic in high season, it can be visited all year round, including in winter when it is then revealed in a different, equally marvelous ambience.
